Cropping an image into a circle
Why a transparent PNG?
A circle doesn't fill the rectangular bounds of an image — the four corners are left over. To keep those corners invisible on any background, the result must be saved as a PNG with transparency. A JPG would fill the corners with a solid color (usually black or white), ruining the round effect.
